Planning policy in Lewisham

The Lewisham Core Strategy is the key LDF document and sets out the key decisions about how much development will happen in the borough and where, when, and how it will take place.

Lewisham Council adopted the core strategy on 29 June 2011. It superseded the Lewisham Unitary Development Plan. The Lewsham Core Strategy forms part of the development plan for the borough, together with the:

Development Management Local Plan

London Plan.

The  Core Strategy covers a 15 year period from 2011 to 2026. The Lewisham Local Plan will be a comprehensive plan for the whole borough covering a 15-year period from 2018–33. When all its stages of preparation have been completed, it will be adopted as planning policy for the Lewisham borough and all the documents in the Local Development Frame will be superseded.
